Untitled Epic Fantasy--This is a project that I have been working on since I was a Freshman in High School. I finished it once, sometime around 2001, and then left it for a couple years intending to edit it and finish it later (after my LDS mission). However, as the story sat in the back of my brain it began to evolve into something far more complex and significant that I had originally envisioned. The basic story arc is the same, but the characters and enemies have changed. This is going to be a massive epic, at least 3 books long, with the potential for a slew of prequels and sequels. Seriously, I've been world-building this project for 16 years now (mostly in my head, I should probably do an organized collection of notes). When finished it is going to be intense.
It's hard to give a clear and succinct synopsis of this story. It's built heavily on the framework of mythology, thus it relies heavily on the interactions between gods, angels, and mortals. I've borrowed much from Greek, Norse, and Christian mythologies.
Here is as brief and cryptic a synopsis as I can give: Multiple worlds, Earth and Serran. On Serran most people use magic, they become powerful. Others use science, they become powerful. Together they create a system of travel between worlds which I am tentatively calling a "gate" system. When the "gate" to Earth is opened, it allows human "gods" access to a new "realm." Within this new "realm" the human "gods" gain great power. They possess members of the society on Serran, and immediately begin chaos. Augmented by magical abilities these "gods" essentially set themselves up as "Gods." They destroy the people of Serran, leaving only scattered tribes of survivors who have lost all their knowledge. However, people from Earth soon find their way to Serran. And one young hero, aided by the true Gods of Serran, destroys the false "Gods," though he cannot banish them back to Earth (his story will come later).
The project I am currently working on is the story of the one who is chosen to cast the false "Gods" of Serran back to Earth. Of course much mayhem will ensue. That's all I'm giving you. The end.

The Raven--This is a simple story that began as a short story in a creative writing class. I had so much fun writing it, and I liked the characters so much, that I decided to convert it into a novel. It's the story of a bounty hunter who captures an assassin with a hefty price on his head. Essentially, the story is of their journey to turn the assassin in to the appropriate authorities. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), the goal of their journey becomes something quite different as the story progresses. The Raven is based in a technological world that is similar to those found in the "steampunk" genre. Meaning that there are things such as airships, glass, interior lighting (not electric), clocks, and cool explosives. Magic is also present, though it's role is diminishing in a world that is slowly converting to technology.
